TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival at Marari and all day tour

Marari is a beautiful little town locates about 11 kms from the Alleppey. Marari is full of beaches and greenery, serving to be the perfect getaway from hectic urban life. For those looking for some quiet, peaceful time, Marari is the place to visit.

Start the first day by visiting the International Coir Museum in Marari. It can make for an entertaining and informative visit. Coir from coconut is used to make a lot of items in Kerala and is quite popular across the country and all over the globe. You will get to learn more about this in the International Coir Museum.

Spend the rest of the day chilling at the serene beaches, under the shade of coconut groves. You can also get some adrenaline rush with boating or kayaking.

Day 2 All day tour at Marari

The second is also about more learning about the culture and lifestyle of Kerala. Visit the Marari Yoga and Kalaripayattu Center to see people practicing yoga and Kalaripayattu, the world famous martial art form that originated in Kerala. You also get to learn about these two here. Keep some time aside to pamper yourself in Marari. There are numerous centers offering Ayurvedic massages, treatments and spas in Marari. Find the one that suits your budget and needs and have a great time.

Day 3 Arrival at Kumarakom and all day tour (42 minutes – 28 kms)

The next day, you will be driven to Kumarakom, another place that has a lot of Kerala’s goodness to offer. You can start by taking a houseboat ride in the Vembanad Lake and then head for the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Bay Island Driftwood museum, which is one of a kind, too, is a must visit. Here, they exhibit artifacts made of driftwood or any kind of wood sourced from water. Those looking for some adventure can head to the beach, as there you get to do parasailing, surfing etc. Take a boat ride to Pathiramanal Island to enjoy the stunning variety of flora and fauna here. The island also has a natural aquarium.

Day 4 Arrival at Alleppey and all day tour (54 minutes – 33 kms)

On the fourth day, you travel to one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kerala. Alleppey, with its green paddy fields, beaches, backwaters and lagoons is indeed a paradisiacal place. Take a house boat ride through the backwaters of Kuttanad, Vembanad Lake, etc. and watch the countryside going about its business. Taste some Kerala cuisine while you are enjoying the ride. Up next, you can either head to the beaches, or visit the many churches and temples in the place to enjoy a serene and spiritual time. The history buffs can head to Krishnapuram Palace, now converted into a museum, then built by the King Marthandavarma.

Day 5 Departure
