As you will be driven to Kumarakom, you will see the hills being replaced by backwaters and beaches. There is no better way for you to start this trip than taking a houseboat ride in the Vembanad Lake. This ride will also give you glimpses of the rustic charm of rural life. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is another popular place thronged by tourists. Kumarakom is also home to a unique museum – the Bay Island Driftwood museum. The artifacts in this museum are made of driftwood or any kind of wood sourced from water. In certain beaches in Alleppey, activities like parasailing, surfing etc. take place.
