Kunhimangalam, Kannur

Legends have it that during the warfare between Lord Rama and Lanka’s king Ravana, Lord Hanumana, while carrying a part of the mighty Himalayas, dropped a piece of the mountain in this village. Since then, Kunhimangalam hamlet became an important centre for medicinal plants and herbs. According to the ancient texts and scriptures, this village is one of the earliest human settlements; the village is in existence since the Stone Age!
