Unlike other Indian states, the Spice Garden of India is known for its heart-warming people, and this can be experienced very well during the holy festival of Eid (both Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adhaa). Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first of the pious Shawwal month of Muslim calendar after the completion of a month’s fasting (Ramadan month).
During the festival, Muslims across Kerala wears new dresses and gather in a community prayer ground to offer ‘Namaz’; on their way back, they greets each and every one, and wishes them all the blessings of the Almighty. Post the prayer, the celebration turns into a gala feast, wherein people delight in traditional sweets and also exchange gifts with family and friends.
